Crow’s Nest Snack Cups

A fun, no-bake treat inspired by crow nests—crunchy “twigs,” a cozy “nest,” and shiny little “eggs.” This recipe is quick to make, easy to clean up, and great for small hands.

Ingredients
• 2 cups crunchy chow mein noodles (for “twigs”)
• 1 cup mini pretzel sticks (broken in half)
• 1 cup melted chocolate chips or melted peanut butter
• Candy-coated chocolates (like M&M’s or similar) for “eggs”
• Optional: shredded coconut or puffed rice for extra texture

Tools Needed
• Large mixing bowl
• Spoon or spatula
• Microwave-safe bowl (for melting chocolate or peanut butter)
• Muffin tin or parchment-lined plate

Instructions
1. Melt the Sticky Stuff
👵 Adult Step: Melt the chocolate chips or peanut butter gently in the microwave (about 20 seconds at a time, stirring between).
💡 Grandpa/Grandma Tip: This is a good moment to talk about patience and why we melt things slowly.
2. Make the “Twigs”
🧒 Kid Step: Add chow mein noodles and pretzel pieces to the big bowl. Let kids mix them with clean hands or a spoon.
3. Build the Nest Mix
🧒 + 👵 Together: Pour the melted chocolate or peanut butter over the crunchy mix. Stir gently until everything is coated.
4. Shape the Nests
🧒 Kid Step: Spoon the mixture into muffin cups or onto parchment. Use fingers or the back of a spoon to make a small dip in the center—just like a nest!
5. Add the Crow Eggs
🧒 Kid Step: Place 2–3 candy “eggs” into each nest. Encourage kids to choose colors and patterns.
6. Let Them Set
👵 Adult Step: Let nests rest at room temperature or in the fridge until firm (about 15–20 minutes).

Gentle Notes for Grandparents 💛
