A cheerful, hands-on calendar that helps grandchildren learn the days of the week while making something useful together. This project is calm, low-mess, and perfect for kitchen tables and little fingers. 💛📅
🧺 Materials (nice and simple)
- Plain white paper or light cardstock (1–2 sheets)
- Crayons or markers 🖍️
- Ruler (optional, for neat lines)
- Pencil
- Tape or glue
- Safety scissors ✂️ (for little helpers)
- Stickers (optional, for fun!)
✂️ Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare the paper
Lay one sheet of paper flat on the table 📄. Turn it sideways (landscape style) so there’s plenty of room. - Divide the week
Using a pencil and ruler, gently draw seven boxes across the page—one for each day of the week 🗓️.
👉 Grandma tip: You can draw the lines yourself first if the children are very young 😊. - Label the days
At the top of each box, write:- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Decorate together
Now the fun part! 🎨- Color each day a different color
- Add stickers or little drawings (a sun for Sunday ☀️, a book for school days 📚, etc.)
- Make it sturdy (optional)
If you want it to last all week:- Glue or tape the calendar onto a piece of cardboard, or
- Tape it to the refrigerator or wall where everyone can see it 👀
- Use it daily
Each morning, talk about the day together:- “What day is today?”
- “What are we doing today?”
You can draw simple pictures instead of writing if the children are very young 🖼️💬.
