Happy Hopping Paper Plate Frog Craft

This sweet little frog is perfect for small hands and big smiles. It uses simple supplies and makes a cheerful keepsake to hang up or play with 🐸💚

Materials
• 1 paper plate (any size)
• Green paint or green crayons/markers
• 2 large googly eyes 👀 (or draw your own)
• Red or pink paper (for the tongue)
• White paper scraps (optional, for eye circles)
• Glue
• Child-safe scissors ✂️
• Black marker

Step-by-Step Directions

(Written just for Grandma 💕)
1. Paint the plate green 🎨
Let your grandchild paint the front of the paper plate green. If paint feels messy today, crayons or markers work just fine 😊
Tip: Put down newspaper or an old placemat first.
2. Let it dry ⏳
While waiting, you can talk about frogs—where they live, how they hop, and the sounds they make 🐸
3. Cut the plate in half ✂️
Once dry, cut the paper plate in half.
Grandma step: Little ones will need help here.
4. Make the frog’s face
Glue the two halves together with the curved edges at the top so it looks like an open frog mouth 😄
5. Add the eyes 👀
Glue googly eyes near the top. If you don’t have any, draw big round eyes with a marker.
6. Create the tongue 👅
Cut a long strip of red or pink paper, curl the end around your finger, and glue it inside the mouth so it pops out.
7. Finish the face ✏️
Draw a happy smile or nostrils if you like. Let your grandchild decide—silly frogs are welcome here!

Helpful Grandma Tips 🌼
• Glue watch: Help with squeezing glue so things don’t slide everywhere 😉
• Short attention spans: This craft is easy to pause and finish later if needed.
• Ages 3–6: Older kids can help more with cutting; younger ones can focus on painting and gluing.

When you’re done, encourage a few frog hops around the room for extra giggles 🐸💫
